April 10 th , PASSION SUNDAY Reading: Mark 11:7-10 Focus: Mark 11:9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” Reflection: The enthusiastic cheering and excitement of the crowd in this scene as Jesus entered Jerusalem, portrays in my mind a picture of crowds today who attend sporting events, concerts, parades, or who might meet a famous person. The anticipation of coming face-to-face with people we admire is like no other experience. The atmosphere seems electrified. Faces are filled with wide eyes and wider smiles, and overwhelming excitement brings some to tears. Photos are snapped, and getting an autograph is the ultimate prize by which some want to remember the joyous event.
